Jump the fabled Aintree fences, 30 times in all, experiencing the thrill of racing in the world's greatest steeplechase. The Grand National course is unique, and part of the reason that the race holds its magical position in the nation's sporting calendar. The famous fences represent one of the biggest tests for a racehorse, as shown by the number of horses from the 40 runners that fail to complete the circuit each year. The full race takes approximately ten minutes to complete as the 40 entrants compete to take the prize of being first to complete the Aintree course. The jockey cam was filmed on a horse taking part in the 1999 Grand National.听 Aintree's fences have undergone major revision in recent years, including the Canal Turn. last updated: 04/03/2008 at 12:39 SEE ALSOYou are in: Liverpool > Grand National > Ride in the Grand National The latest horse racing news and results from 大象传媒 Sport |
