Queen Tantrum

From tribal rhythms to electronica, Liverpool-born multi-instrumentalist Queen Tantrum is making a name for herself in the north west.

Queen Tantrum, aka Emma Sweeney, is a Liverpudlian multi-instrumentalist known for her strong stage persona. Her stage name was created out of respect for the vocal abilities of the late, great Freddy Mercury and her personal frustration at the lack of exposure for new artists during the current trend of 90's girl and boy band reunions.

‘Waiting’ is taken from the debut Queen Tantrum album, Broken, on which Sweeney has drawn from an inspirational catalogue of music to create the sound of Queen Tantrum. From Led Zeppelin to Annie Lennox, tribal rhythms to electronica, the album is energetic, personal and reflective. The album is performed, written and produced by Emma and she has put together a five-piece line-up to take on tour in 2008.

Born in Huyton and schooled at King David and LIPA, Sweeney has been a voice coach and classical music tutor (specialising in strings and piano). She has also appeared on several CD releases from All Around The World (AATW).
