For five spectacular days this September Liverpool city centre was taken over by a magical piece of street theatre. It all started early on the morning of Wednesday, 3 September when commuters arriving at Liverpool's Lime Street Station were confronted by a 50 foot spider attached to the wall of nearby Concourse House. Over the next five days the giant spider won the heart of Merseysiders as over a hundred thousand people crowded on to the city's streets to see the giant spider christened La Princesse.
