Hannah
& Hanna tells the story of a teenage asylum seeker in Margate
who becomes friends with a local girl of the same age. They bond
over a mutual love of pop music and develop a friendship that transcends
the bigotry surrounding them.
Pop
mad Hannah likes to sing karaoke, especially when it's Britney Spears.
What she doesn't like is that Kosovotch Hanna is stealing her thunder
on her favourite song. Hannah doesn't know that she and Hanna will
become friends against all odds.

Hannah
and Hanna |
Hannah
and Hanna is a critically acclaimed play from Olivier Award Winning
writer and director John Retallack, and was described as a 'must-see'
in its recent Edinburgh Festival run. It's tough, funny, tense,
topical, and moving. Hannah and Hanna explores the idea that the
common interests of these girls can outweigh their differences,
especially when the two sides find a way to communicate. It has
been described as 'bold, politically committed, and brilliantly
aware.'
Translated
into four languages, Hannah and Hanna has been performed all over
the world including Sweden, Israel, Belgium and France.
The
production was nominated for the TMA/Barclay Award for Best Play
for Young People in 2002 and plays at the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool
between 11th to 15th November 2003. Tickets are 拢12 with concessions
拢6. Call the box office on 0151 709 4776.
