It was the eighth suspected arson attack at the building in less than two years. The damage meant that the building couldn't be properly secured, leaving residents vulnerable to burglaries. It also left damage to the roof and exterior of the building, which meant rain water seeped into the walls and caused damage to the interior of the flats. At a meeting in November the council pledged a number of measures to make the block safer, including new fire doors, safety locks, and fixing the roof. They also promised a number of temporary measures to help out in the interim, such as a deep clean of the communal area. However concerns had been raised by some people living there that the temporary measures had not been carried out. Damage to the roof of The Clarksons Now the council says the work will get started in February, weather permitting. It's particularly good news for one resident. Dennis Flint moved out of his flat at Christmas time because the conditions were so bad. He couldn't begin repairs to the inside of his flat until the work on the outside was completed. He told 大象传媒 London:听 "It was the not knowing that was the worst. Now at least I know when the work will start, and I can start to plan". Read past article
