The Mayor of LondonThe Mayor of London controls a budget of £9 billion and is primarily responsible for transport services, police, fire services and promoting London's economy. The Mayor is a spokesperson for the city who represents London at home and abroad. The Mayor is NOT responsible for council housing, schools, social services, hospitals, street cleaning, council tax or parking fines. The ´óÏó´«Ã½ is not responsible for the content of external websites The London AssemblyThe London Assembly is made up of 25 Members who are elected by Londoners. 11 of the Members represent the whole of the capital and 14 are elected to represent constituencies – which are made up of two to four London boroughs. The role of the Assembly is to examining the Mayor's strategies, decisions and actions and to investigate issues that are important to Londoners. The Assembly represents Londoners on three key organisations: the Metropolitan Police Authority, the London Fire and Emergency Planning Authority and the London Development Agency.
