Trading standards officers found harmful skin lightening products on the shelves on a shop called "Beauty first" on the Broadway in Greenford. The "Beauty first" trader Liyakat Tai appeared at Acton Magistrates Court on Thursday 24 July.听 He pleaded guilty to four counts of selling illegal skin lightening creams in his听 Greenford shop. He was fined 拢500 and ordered to pay 拢863 costs. 150 dangerous skin lightening products were seized from the shop in April 2007.听The creams that include hydroquinone, a substance banned in the UK, can cause serious burns and rashes. The creams confiscated include "Skin Light Cream", "Sivoclair lightening cream", "Peau Claire" and "Clair Liss."
