Wendy joins us from ITV Anglia in Norwich but she's lived in London before, during her degree at Goldsmiths College in New Cross.

She has spent the past 4 years fending off vicious swans and boisterous cows as a reporter and presenter in rural East Anglia. Perhaps not the most conventional training for a job as the Capital's weather presenter, but character building nonetheless.

She has dabbled in radio, transforming into "Wicked Wendy" for special early morning missions on a breakfast show in Norfolk. At the same time, she was honing her skills as a journalist for a regional newspaper.

She grew up in the sticks near Great Yarmouth with her parents, little sister and a small menagerie of family pets. She's always had an interest in the weather ever since she was rudely awakened by the October 1987 storm that knocked down most of the trees in her garden.

Apart from weather related interests, Wendy is also a keen hockey player, sings for a soul and funk band and is learning Spanish. She lives in London with Ralph the cat.
