Promising footballer Oliver Kingonzila was stabbed outside the E Bar, South End at the weekend.听 Now his parents Caroline and Kimbena say, as Christians, they have to forgive. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 have room for bitterness 鈥. I have hope.听 Oliver is in heaven.听 I won't see him in the flesh again but, I will see him.听 By my own strength I can't [fortive] because it's my baby but, the word, the spirit of God says I have to forgive.听 God is the judge of those boys鈥. Victim Oliver Kingonzila "Oliver is [sic] a gentle life, kind, he would be there to help everyone - a very polite boy", continues his mother The 19 year old is the 26th teenager to be killed in the capital this year equalling the figure for the whole of last year.听 He died after being found with stab wounds outside the bar where a private party was being held. The 鈥済entle giant鈥 as he鈥檚 been described was a promising footballer with Barnet鈥檚 youth team and had even skippered the England Colleges FA team in a game.听 Tributes have been laid outside bar Club spokesman Dennis Signy said of the midfielder:听 鈥淲e were shocked to hear the news.听 Oliver was a young lad hoping to make his way in the game who had already played for the Bees鈥. This is the second tragedy to hit the family this year.听 Oliver's older brother, Herve, 27, died of a heart attack earlier this year while playing football. Elodia Kingonzila, the victim's 22-year-old sister, said the knife crime in her south London community is now out of control.
"You cannot go out anymore, you are not safe. You could be sitting on the bus, somebody comes and starts an argument for a stupid reason - knife," she said before warning young people to stay away from nightclubs. "Stay at home, clubbing is not a life, there's always knives everywhere you go these days." Friends and family have been paying their respects to Oliver.听 There have been huge floral tributes and cards placed outside the E Bar where he was stabbed.
