The 20 year Harold Hill Ambitions project has been given the go ahead by Havering council. The scheme will see听 more than 拢15 million pumped into rejuvenating the area. It'll also provide 500 new houses, as well as better education and training opportunities, youth centres, parks and community services. There'll be a new learning village built, which will include better facilities for existing schools, a new academy for 11-19 year olds and a new Havering College of Further and Higher Education campus. The area will benefit from a new bigger library at Hilldene with upgraded computer and meeting rooms and community learning facilities which can be accessed by residents and community groups. The Council is currently looking at ways to improve the standard of housing in the area and has plans to continue improving community safety The leader of Havering Council Michael White said it鈥檚 about bringing opportunity to the area: "residents needed more opportunities, they needed education, better living standards and a safe local area in which to live, own a home, find work and raise a family.
