Commonwealth Trials this weekend

Steve Cram launched ticket sales

Olympic medallist Steve Cram is looking forward to an outstanding show of athletic ability at this weekend's Aqua-pura Commonwealth Trials.

鈥淭he quality of the competition at the Trials will be excellent." he said "I am sure that the Manchester public will be in for a treat and I would encourage them not to miss out on what will be a great sporting weekend.鈥

The first two English athletes in each event at the Aqua-Pura Commonwealth Trials will automatically earn a place in the English team for the Games so competition is expected to be fierce.

Fans will be able to obtain tickets on the day, subject to availability, for the Trials at the City of Manchester stadium. Tickets can be purchased in advance from the telephone hotline on 0870 444 4440.

The programme of events will get underway on 10.30am on Saturday 14 June and 12.30pm on Sunday 16 June.

Spectators are advised to allow plenty of time for their journey and motorists travelling to the stadium on Sunday should be aware that the Mancunian Way flyover will be temporarily closed.
