More Park and Walk sites announced

GMPTE have announced that eight Park and Walk sites are now available within less than one kilometre walk of the City of Manchester Stadium.

The Park and Walk sites offer spectators travelling by car another way of getting to the Games in addition to the Park and Ride sites at Heaton Park, Old Trafford and Lancashire County Cricket Club.

Park and Ride facilities have all been heavily pre-booked and are busy today, however spaces are still available for the remainder of the Games and are being allocated on a first come first served basis.

Spectators are advised to ring the Greater Manchester Public Transport Information line on 0161 228 7811 before making their journey, where they will be advised which site is best to use.

The Park and Walk sites are located at:

  • Lord North Street
  • Iron Street
  • Grimshaw Lane
  • Redvers Street
  • Rylance Street
  • Medlock Valley School
  • Kay Street
  • Park House Street

Parking charges at both Park and Walk and Park and Ride sites are 拢5 per car. Spectators are urged to make sure they have the correct fee ready on arrival to cut down on queues at the entrance kiosks.
