Commonwealth Games live chat

And finally, Beth Tweddle ...

Beth, I spotted you cheering on the England athletes at the stadium last night. How was the camaraderie between the different sportsmen and women.

Beth: Team England is a great team. They are very supportive of each other within the Village. Everyone is cheering you on whether you've won a medal or not.

Beth, this isn't a question but I think your a inspiration to younger athletes and I love what you do!

大象传媒 Host: How old are you Beth?!

Beth: 17

Beth, has it been your ultimate dream to be a Gymnast and if so for how long have you wanted to be one for.

Beth: No. My parents first tried to get me into gym when I was six but I didn't want to!

How often and how hard to you have to train for major competitions such as the Commonwealth Games. It must take its toll on your social life.

Beth: I train 6 days a week, twice a day, about 5 or 6 hours a day. As for the social life, you miss out on that bit but it pays off in the end.

How do you fit school in around being a gymnast?

Beth: If I'm not at school I get work sent to me and then I send it back and when I am at school I just do it when I get home from training.

Do you get really nervous and how do you stay relaxed?

Beth: Before the events I tend to listen to music and yes I do get nervous but a few nerves are good!

大象传媒 Host: What music did you listen to this time - it sure worked!

Beth: RnB

Do you get coaching on how to deal with all the press attention too?

Beth: I've had one meeting about it but we don't tend to get that much and our coaches are always there to help us.

What was better, winning gold on the uneven bars, or winning silver individually at the commonwealth games?

Beth: I'm not sure actually! I think they're both the highlight of my career.

All the girls always hug each other. Are you really all friends?

Beth: <laughs> We've been training a long time together so we are all really good friends.

What did you think about while you were receiving your medals? I would have been scared!

Beth: You're thinking about where to walk and where to look and basically just what to do so you don't look stupid! <laughing>
