By displaying a determination to do it the way they want, with who they want, allied to a financial creativity that's an overspill from their creative attitude to life. Lullabies are not a part of their repertoire. No lighters will be held in the air. It's a scathing, fiery onslaught that, by the time the set closes, those at the front are shaking most, if not all, parts of their bodies Like the pristine artwork on the CD, the music shines as they play. The pent-up energy of limited live performances whilst they hone the CD is released as they explode musically on the stage.

Ivan Hall plays bass as if he wants to be a guitarist.听 Danny Saul stands totally focused on his guitarist playing.听The deadpan delivery of banter between the songs by Martin Greenwood ("Thank you for your half hearted whooping") counter plays the intensity and fizz of the songs such as听 My Sorry Ass. Obstacles seem forever put in their path, but are typically overcome with an inventiveness borne out of desperation.听Someone else's guitar strap might slip off; Martin's snaps at the neck.听An exasperated听 request for anyone with a听 "Hammer and nail, or screwdriver" is responded to with the offer of a combination set of pliers that would not be allowed past an airport door. Are they annoyed, frustrated? No, they merely get on with successfully delivering the goods. |
