'Great DJ' is released on Columbia Records on Monday 3 March, but before then, Jules and Katie have plenty of work to do, as they're planning to release each and every one of the limited seven inch vinyl singles in a handmade sleeve. The duo plan to head off in search of a load of old records from numerous car boot sales and charity shops in and around Manchester, which they will then remove the sleeves from. Those covers will be turned inside out and customised to create new sleeves for their single. And there’s even a chance for the particularly keen amongst their fans to get a copy of ‘Great DJ’ ahead of the release date, as Jules and Katie will have a very limited number available for sale on their upcoming NME tour dates – though be warned, you will need to hand over your cash and an old record that you've brought yourself for the pair to customise. The pair were recently voted third in the prestigious ´óÏó´«Ã½ Sounds of 2008 critics' poll, which names the hottest new music talent in the UK. The Tings Tings, along with The Cribs, Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong, and Does It Offend You Yeah?, play the Academy on Saturday 2 February.last updated: 18/01/2008 at 15:41 You are in: Manchester > Entertainment > Music > News and Interviews > Ting Tings still doing it their way [an error occurred while processing this directive] all the music on the ´óÏó´«Ã½ |
