Twisted Wheel join Columbia

It looks like Columbia Records have decided that Greater Manchester is the place to be after announcing that they have signed the jagged Oldham indie rockers Twisted Wheel to go alongside local garage pop duo The Ting Tings on their roster.

The band, who were one of the highlights of last year’s In The City music conference, have just put pen to paper with the label, but it’s understood that both parties are very excited about the prospect of working together.

Twisted Wheel celebrated their news at the weekend with a riotous show at Moho Live that saw plenty of stage invasions and much crowd surfing.

There’s no details yet as to when the band will make their major label debut, which will follow the limited release You Stole The Sun, but given the number of great songs that front man Johnny Brown has up his sleeve already, it shouldn’t be too long before they are following fellow punk upstarts The Courteeners into the charts.
