How to cope if you're made redundant - where to keep spending and where you can make savings.

• don't panic - re-budget and re-plan;
• contact mortgage/rental/utility companies to explain;
• if you receive a payout, don't go crazy, make it last;
• get advice on benefits from direct.gov or the job centre;
• check the ACAS website
• if you're in a trade union, ask them for help/advice.
