Members
of the group head for Handforth |
Over
the coming months we'll follow their mission to gather funding,
ideas and support for the improvement of the platforms and the overall
modernisation and revamp of the run-down station.
On
March 1st GMPTE provided free tickets for the group to travel down
the line to Handforth Station where local people have joined together
on a similar community improvement project.
Passengers
share the station with dumped computers |
They
have worked together on they have installed woodcraft and sculptures
by local artists, built a new ticket office, improved the shelter
facilities and carried out planting.
The
group saw how easily the look of the station at Levenshulme could
be improved.
If
you can help The Friends of Levenshulme Station, or have ideas for
how the facilities could be improved please come along.
You
