John Wiggett's pride and joy is a Wisteria
John
Wiggett has a Wisteria in his front garden in Delamere Avenue, Levenshulme.
It's his prides and joy - mainly because of advice from Alan Titchmarsh.
John's
Wisteria is 32 years-old and hadn't been performing as well as he
had hoped.
But
after reading an article by TV gardener Alan Titchmarsh, John says
that he's expecting great things from the plant this year.
Alan Titchmarsh
"I've
counted 74 flower buds and that's the most it has ever had".
When
it is in full bloom (in mid-May) John is expecting a lot of interest
from passers-by, some of which stop to take pictures!
"Prince
Charles has a cottage on the Isles of Scilly called Wisteria,"
says John, "It's covered in Wisteria, but he has a man looking
after it that knows what he's doing".
