Media Action is working on a -supported programme to enhance the capacity of the Ukrainian TV station – Hromadske TV. The station was set up by a group of independent-minded journalists in 2013 as the first media outlet in Ukraine incorporated as a non-governmental organisation.
Our project aims to ensure that audiences across Ukraine have access to independent news coverage and quality factual programming. By providing training and mentoring to Hromadske TV’s news and programme departments, we’re helping to improve the station’s newsgathering and news production operations, ensuring that outputs across TV, online, and social media are better integrated through a multi-platform newsroom.
We’re also working with the station to help them develop non-news formats across their schedule, to attract a wider audience to their independent programming.
