大象传媒 One has commissioned Policing Paradise, made by Spun Gold TV (a 53 Degrees Global company), an exciting new series following the real-life team of detectives policing the tropical islands of Bermuda.

Policing Paradise (16x30) will give audiences exclusive access to the officers whose daily beat covers Bermuda鈥檚 seven interconnected islands to reveal the unique challenges they face policing a stunning tropical paradise which hosts 850,000 tourists from around the world every year.

The islands of Bermuda are a British Overseas Territory, and their safety and security is ultimately the responsibility of the British government. The diverse 500-strong police force featured in the series is a mix of native Bermudians, officers from across the Caribbean, and police officers from the UK who have chosen to live and work in a tropical paradise.

The series will follow the team鈥檚 everyday duties as they ensure the safety of Bermuda鈥檚 65,000 year-round residents, while also dealing with the daily arrival of tourists, helping to ensure that Bermuda Day, Carnival and other festivals are a success, and patroling the outlying islands where secluded high-end hotels and luxury villas often house some of the world鈥檚 most famous people.

With access to the police jet ski squad, marine police, coastguards, canine unit, traffic division and customs officers, the series also reveals how the force, working across land and sea, deals with piracy, smuggling and more serious crimes that can threaten the peace and stability of the islands.

Alex McLeod, Commissioner, 大象传媒 Daytime comments: 鈥淧olicing Paradise is like the real-life Death in Paradise. Audiences will be able to get lost in the Islands of Bermuda as they are taken on a journey with the wonderful police force working to keep Bermuda safe for residents and tourists. It鈥檚 a deep dive into the culture of these truly unique islands and one we hope audiences will feel privileged to be a part of.鈥

Spun Gold MD Daniela Neumann says: 鈥淧olicing Paradise is a sunny, colourful and fascinating escapist series providing a window onto the work of the real-life team of police who have the job of keeping one of the world鈥檚 most beautiful and sought after group of tropical islands safe. It will be the perfect show for audiences who have made its fictional counterpart one of the longest running hit dramas on TV.鈥

Policing Paradise (w/t) is commissioned for 大象传媒 One and iPlayer by Head of 大象传媒 Daytime and Early Peak commissioning, Rob Unsworth. Alex McLeod is 大象传媒 Daytimes commissioner. The series is produced by Colin Stone and executive produced by Sarah Trigg and Matt Drury. All3Media International has worldwide distribution rights. Policing Paradise is being produced at Spun Gold鈥檚 Birmingham production HQ, which the company relocated to in February 2024.
