You know more Barry Gibb songs than you think you do

The last surviving member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb, will be steped onto the Pyramid Stage into the Legends Slot at Glastonbury 2017 and everyone lost their minds!

You might be mistaken in thinking that this set was only going to be about the Bee Gees - how wrong you are. The man's writing credits are long, formidable and we guarantee you'll know more of them than you think...

鉀 Chain Reaction

Gibb along with his two brothers (aka the Bee Gees) wrote this astronomical hit originally for Diana Ross, which became an instant UK number 1. It was unsurprising then that in 2001 the 90's pop-cum-marketing phenomenom known as Steps covered it with great aplomb. Their music video really does need to be seen to be believed as it potentially makes one of most compelling arguments for alternative medicine in history as a sick 'H' is admitted to hospital and cured completely with a highly infectious dance routine.

鈿★笍 Grease

We all know someone whose go-to Karaoke song is 'Grease' and who can blame them; the track went platinum and gold across the world.

As the title track for the 1978 musical Grease with John Travolta and that Olivia Newton-John moment it was sung by Frankie Valli, known for his powerful falsetto voice, and became one of the biggest records of his career.

鉂わ笍 Woman in love

Another number 1 for Gibb and this time he even won an Ivor Novello for Best Song Musically and Lyrically. The video features Streisand and fellow Glastonbury performer Kris Kristofferson (Pyramid Stage, Friday 16:15) in a variety of highly charged activities (think Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore in Ghost but with horses).

馃彎 Islands in the Stream

Featuring Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers this song has already graced the Pyramid Stage twice before in both of their landmark legends sets, let's hope for a third.

It was originally written for Marvin Gaye but the Bee Gees ended up giving the song to the country music stars instead. Suffice to say it was another HUGE hit for the Gibb estate.

馃挃 Emotion

Written by Barry and Robin Gibb it was first recorded by Australian singer Samantha Sang in 1978 before being covered by Destiny's Child in 2001. Both versions certainly have their merits with the Bee Gee's sublime backing vocals featuring on the original we just wish there was some way to get Beyoncé and Barry to do some kind of collaboration...guest slot at Glastonbury perhaps?

馃槶 Heartbreaker

Christmas really does come early when the Bee Gees offer you a song - this one cemented Dionne Warwick's stardom and no doubt contributed to her placement on the Billboard Greatest of All Time - Hot 100 list coming in at number 66.

But enough about his writing, watch highlights of his performance right here...
