Rising bright and early on the first morning of Glastonbury proper, Chris Evans went behind the scenes of the festival to meet some of the people who keep this colossal show on the road - including caterers, traders and the head honcho herself, Emily Eavis.

KT Tunstall, The Courteeners and Clean Bandit dropped by for live teepee sessions and there was even a disco classic played on vegetables. Here's how it all went down.

How a festival is fed!

Chris was up with the milkman - literally - to find out how 120,000 pints of milk, most of it from Michael Eavis's own herd of cows, is distributed to stalls across the festival. He also met Leon, Glastonbury's longest-serving caterer, who's been providing hand-made (and often hand-picked!) veggie food to hungry punters since 1982.

Clean Bandit open the teepee

"This is a very special place, ladies and gentleman." Yup, Chris was talking about the 大象传媒 Music teepee, where tons of intimate sessions will take place over the weekend. First up were Clean Bandit, performing their chart-topping hit Rockabye.

How to turn a carrot into a clarinet

At Glastonbury, music is all around - you don't even need real instruments to join in, as Vassos discovered when he met Vicky O'Neon, who is spending the festival showing people how to fashion musical instruments from vegetables.

Paul Carrack played his indelible hit

Before opening up the Pyramid Stage, Paul Carrack dropped by to play his signature song How Long - a hit in 1974 and still sounding superb.

Happy Birthday KT!

It was KT Tunstall's birthday! So we really appreciate her putting the champers on ice and coming to play the 大象传媒 teepee instead.

Did Emily Eavis just drop a hint about Glasto 2019?

After several years broadcasting from the site, Chris was delighted to finally be invited to the little idyll next to the farmhouse from which the Eavises and their team run the whole shebang. And in the course of their chat, did Chris manage to convince Emily to book The Village People for the next festival?

The Courteeners rock the teepee

Last up for Chris in the teepee, some proper rock'n'roll swagger courtesy of Manchester's Courteeners, who played one of their own tunes along with a couple of classic, tentpole-shaking covers.

Glastonbury 2017 - Evans style

Finally, here are Chris's personal recommendations for who to catch at the festival this year. Visit the 大象传媒 Glastonbury website to watch highlights from throughout the weekend.
