A visit to Thorp Perrow wouldn't be complete without watching or even taking part in one of the popular birds of prey flying demonstrations. Enjoy an aerial display of eagles, falcons, hawks, vultures and owls from all five continents.

Demonstrations take place up to three times daily (weather-permitting) at 11.30am, 1.30pm and 3.30pm (March-end October). Thereafter at 11.30am and 1.30pm.

Kids will also enjoy the chance to handle one of the baby owls and falcons hatched through Thorp Perrow's successful breeding programme.

Falconry courses - the Northern School of Falconry and Associated Studies.

Special events including children's activities days, guided walks and bird watching.

New mammal collection opening later in 2007.

Seasonal highlights:

Summer - Wild flowers, bees, trees, butterflies and dragonflies, falcons.

Autumn - trees and fungus, falcons.

Winter - woodland walks, falcons.

Spring - bulbs, snowdrops, daffodils, crocuses, blossom trees, flowering shrubs, falcons.

Access:Disabled Access: Electric wheelchair available for hair with advance booking - please call 01677 427 203 ahead of your visit to check availability.

Disabled toilets are available at the tea room and Bird of Prey Centre.
Facilities:

Visitor Centre with toilets, refreshments and gift shop (seasonal opening times).

There is also a public house with hot/cold food in the nearby village of Snape.

Getting there:

Thorp Perrow is situated on the Bedale - Ripon Road, just south of Bedale, North Yorkshire, about four miles from Leeming Bar on the A1.

Free parking for cars and coaches at the entrance to the Arboretum

Opening times:

Year round, dawn till dusk (not including Visitor Centre).

Charges:

Adults 拢6.10, Concessions 拢4.80, Family ticket (2 adults & 2 children) 拢24. Flying demonstrations included in entrance fee. Season tickets available. Hawk walks available at 拢30.

The birds of prey demonstrations are included in the main entrance fee.
