大象传媒 Breakfast 'could move' to Salford
The 大象传媒 is considering moving its flagship Breakfast show to Salford, it has emerged.
A spokesman said the corporation was "considering a range of options", adding that no final decision had yet been made.
The daily show is fronted by Bill Turnbull, Sian Williams, Susanna Reid and Charlie Stayt.
The 大象传媒 has already announced that several other departments will move to its new northern base in Salford.
These include sport, children's, parts of Radio 5 live and learning.
"It's not been decided yet, but if 大象传媒 Breakfast were to move to Salford, viewers could really start to notice that the 大象传媒 was making more of its programmes in the North - just as listeners may when Radio 5 Live moves," said the 大象传媒's media correspondent, Torin Douglas.
25th anniversary
"Breakfast runs for three hours a day on 大象传媒 One - and the Salford Quays waterfront and new buildings could provide a highly visible backdrop for the programme."
大象传媒 Breakfast features a mix of news, weather, sport and celebrity guests.
Its other presenters include sports broadcaster Chris Hollins and weather presenter, Carol Kirkwood.
It is currently broadcast from the 大象传媒's Television Centre in west London and runs for three hours on a week day and on Sundays and four hours on a Saturday.
The programme celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2008.
About 2,500 jobs from five departments are moving to Salford Quays in 2011 from their current London home.
