Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a crash that left a four-year-old girl seriously injured.

The collision, which involved a lorry and a black Ford Fiesta, happened on the A30 in the Tedburn St Mary area on Thursday at about 11:00 GMT.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the girl was taken to hospital in Bristol and is in a stable condition. The lorry driver was uninjured.

The eastbound carriageway was closed for most of the day while forensic investigations took place.

The force said the child was in the rear of the Ford Fiesta and that two other people in the vehicle had minor injuries.

Officers are now asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or has information regarding it, to contact the force.
