A woman has been accused of causing death by dangerous driving after a pedestrian died in a collision.

The 38-year-old was charged following the incident on Nantwich Road, Crewe, on Friday.

Police said a 61-year-old man died from his injuries after being hit by a green BMW shortly after 10:00 GMT.

The defendant was also charged with driving without a licence and appeared at Chester magistrates' court on Saturday.

She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the crown court in Chester on 11 March.
