Asbestos removal scheme announced for six schools

Work to remove asbestos roofing at six schools in Herefordshire is to be carried out over the summer, the county council says.
The 拢800,000 scheme will involve replacing lights, ceilings, and canopies as well "failing" roof systems.
The projects at the different schools will cost between 拢60,000 and 拢250,000, the council said.
The authority is currently seeking contractors to carry out the work.
The affected schools are:
- Garway Primary School in southwest Herefordshire
- Ashfield Park Primary School, Ross-on-Wye
- Weobley High School, west of Hereford
- Bosbury CE Primary School, near Ledbury
- Ewyas Harold Primary School, in Hereford
- Almeley Primary School, near Kington
