The family of a man who was killed in a crash in Cowfold, West Sussex last month have said his death has left an "irreplaceable void" in their lives.

Pedestrian Danny Moore, 44, from West Chiltington, died at the scene of the collision with a Mercedes car on the A272 Bolney Road on 31 August.

His family said: "Danny was a devoted father, son, brother and friend."

A 30-year-old man from London who was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and causing death by careless driving has been released on bail.

Mr Moore was described as "hardworking, generous and sociable", while his family said there was nothing "he cherished more than spending quality time with his son".

"We are all devastated and heartbroken by what has happened. We miss Danny profoundly and are struggling to come to terms with his absence," they added in a statement.

"One thing is clear, there is now a significant, irreplaceable void in our lives, and a 10-year-old boy who no longer has his daddy."

Sussex Police is appealing for anyone with information regarding the crash to email collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk quoting Operation Cambrose.
