Festive reindeer stolen from roundabout

People have been asked to "keep an eye out" after a decorative reindeer was stolen from a roundabout.

The illuminated decoration was taken from the A690 Gilesgate junction in Durham at about 18:40 GMT on Tuesday.

Durham County Council said "at least two people" would be needed to lift the reindeer.

Durham Police said a white van was believed to have been involved and officers were investigating the theft.

A council spokesman asked people to "keep an eye out" while they travel and report any information to the police.
