A dog attack has left an eight-year-old child in hospital with life-changing injuries.

Emergency services were called to the North Penrallt area of Caernarfon on Sunday and the child was taken to Liverpool's Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

A 44-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of owning a dangerously out of control dog that caused serious injury.

The dog involved was put down, but the breed is not yet known.
