Police appeal after murder of man in Port Glasgow
Police are appealing for information following the murder of a man who was found seriously injured on street in Port Glasgow.
Jack Trainner, 27, was found on Brookfield Road, Port Glasgow, at about 21:05 on Saturday.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are treating his death as murder.
A police spokesperson said an "extensive investigation" was under way.
Det Ch Insp Graham McCreadie, from the Major Investigation Teams, said: 鈥淛ack's family and friends will continue to be supported throughout our inquiries. It鈥檚 vital we find out exactly what happened to him and I鈥檓 appealing to the public for help to do that.
"If you have any information that may assist officers with their inquiries, then please get in touch as soon as you can.
鈥淲e would also like to view any private CCTV or dashcam footage from the area and between 18:00 and 23:00 on Saturday."
There will be an increased police presence in the area while the investigation is carried out.
