A boy is in a serious condition in hospital following an emergency incident at a river.

Crews were called to reports that two people were in the water near Kingfisher Way in Alcester, Warwickshire, at about 21:30 BST on Monday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said a boy and girl were already out of the water when it arrived.

The girl was assessed and discharged at the scene, while the boy received specialist trauma care and was taken to hospital.

Warwickshire Police attended the scene and said a liaison officer had been assigned to the family.
