Police have launched an inquiry after they received a report of a rape in a playground.

A woman said she was attacked at about 21:30 BST on Friday in Toddler's Cove playground, near Whitehall Road, in Canterbury.

She was allegedly approached by four young men before one carried out the rape.

The attacker, who is described as white, eastern European and aged around 19 or 20, carried out the assault after the other three men had left, she said.

Detectives have been carrying out a forensic examination of the scene and were also checking for CCTV.

Any motorists, residents or businesses who might be able to help were asked to get in touch.
