A man has been charged following an alleged sexual assault on a sleeping woman on a plane, police said.

Sussex Police said officers were called at about 04.55 BST on Saturday to a report that a man had sexually assaulted a woman in her 20s on a flight from Doha, Qatar to Gatwick Airport.

Momade Jussab, 65, of Feltham, Hounslow was arrested when the flight landed and has been charged with sexual assault, the force said.

Det Insp Darren Taylor said the incident "must have been extremely traumatic" for the victim, and she was being supported by specialist officers.

Mr Jussab has been remanded in prison and is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court on 28 October, police said.
