Man runs through town centre with machete

A man has been charged after reports of a suspect running through a town centre with a machete.
Officers were called to the Manchester Road and Ormerod Street area of Burnley at about 15:00 BST on Tuesday.
The force said it acted "swiftly and efficiently" and a 49-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested.
He has now been charged with shoplifting, breach of a criminal behaviour order and possession of a bladed article, and is due before magistrates in Blackburn later.
'Isolated incident'
Lancashire Police said no members of the public or officers were injured during the "isolated incident".
"We want to reassure you today that we take these reports very seriously, and you may see additional Neighbourhood Policing Officers in the town centre over the coming days," a spokesman said.
