A man has been arrested after a suspicious fire caused a bungalow roof to collapse in Devon on Monday morning.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service sent five fire appliances to Bridgewater Gardens, in Totnes, at about 05:45 GMT.
Crews fought the fire with breathing apparatus and hose reel jets. The fire was extinguished at about 09:40 GMT and no injuries were reported.
A 37-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life. He has since been released on police bail until 19 November.
Totnes Fire Station said on arrival, firefighters found the street "filled with heavy smoke and a house fully engulfed in flames, with fire breaking through windows and the roof".
Crews said the bungalow next door also had smoke in its loft space.
Anyone who may be able to assist officers with their inquiries has been asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police.
