The latest stage of Guernsey Electricity鈥檚 work in the St Peter Port area of Guernsey is nearing completion.

The firm said the works form part of an ongoing, multimillion-pound investment in the island鈥檚 electricity infrastructure.

Two new distribution pillars were installed at Doyle Road, upgrading the more than 50-year-old system supplying electricity to at least 48 properties.

Work is due to be finished by 16 September, which is about six weeks earlier than initially anticipated.

Mike Lloyd, head of distribution at the company, said: "We appreciate that the project has impacted traffic, residents and local businesses throughout its duration and apologise for any inconvenience caused whilst these essential works have progressed."
