A man has appeared in court charged with murdering another man in a stabbing in Barnsley.

Alan Sutton, 41, died after what police described as an "altercation" on Burton Road in Monk Bretton on Sunday 1 September.

At Sheffield Crown Court on Monday, Callum Strachan, 21, of Burton Road, entered no plea and was told by Her Honour Judge Sarah Wright that a trial date had been set for 21 July 2025.
