A man has died following a van crash which closed a Devon road, police said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said emergency services were called out to the A375 in Sidbury, near Sidmouth, at about 10:30 BST on Friday after receiving reports of a crash involving a Renault Master van.

The force added the road was closed while investigations took place and the driver of the vehicle - a man in his 50s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

An appeal for witnesses has been issued by police and anyone with information should contact the force.
