A driver escaped unharmed from a burning farming vehicle, which was destroyed by a blaze, the fire service confirmed.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service (DSFRS) responded on Friday afternoon to a report of a telehandler - a crane-like vehicle - "well alight with the surrounding grass also alight".

Firefighters in breathing apparatus used hose reels to extinguish the flames at Exton in Dulverton.

Bampton Fire Station said: "Unfortunately the vehicle was completely destroyed but thankfully the driver escaped unharmed."
