A teenage motorcyclist died just five days before his 18th birthday in a crash in York, an inquest heard.

Meylie Nesham, 17, was killed when he lost control of the motorbike in Foxwood Lane on 3 August 2023.

The inquest heard he had been seen on the wrong side of the road prior to the crash and it was believed he was "braking heavily from speed" when he struck a kerb and was thrown off the bike into a lamppost.

Mr Nesham, who had been working as a mechanic, sustained multiple traumatic injuries in the crash, with coroner John Broadbridge recording a conclusion of death in a road traffic collision.
