Driver dies in hospital three days after A77 crash

A 82-year-old man has died three days after he was involved in a two-car crash on the A77 in South Ayrshire.
The collision happened at about 14:25 on Thursday, half a mile from the Dutch House Roundabout in Monkton.
The man, who was travelling with an 84-year-old woman, was driving a red Renault Captur when it crashed with a silver Mercedes A200.
Police Scotland said he died from his injuries on Sunday.
The woman remains in hospital in a serious condition.
Sgt Martin Cunningham said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this very difficult time.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch if you can assist."
