Arrests as police officer injured in vehicle stop

Two men have been arrested and suspected drugs seized after a police officer was assaulted during an incident in Cornwall, say Devon and Cornwall Police.
Police were conducting a stop-check on a vehicle at Poltair Crescent in St Austell at about 13:50 GMT on Saturday, during which a man in his 30s fled the scene and assaulted a male officer, officers said.
He was located at Lostwood Road a "short time later" and a quantity of suspected drugs and associated paraphernalia were seized, along with cash, they added.
The force said he and another man, both from St Austell, were arrested and later released on bail until 7 December, pending further enquiries.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A man in his 40s from the St Austell area was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs [cocaine] and driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit.
"A man in his 30s from St Austell was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug [cocaine] and common assault of an emergency worker."
