Teenager critical after being hit by car in Glasgow
An 18-year-old pedestrian is in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a car in Glasgow on Saturday.
He was walking on the pavement on the A81 Maryhill Road at about 19:35 when he was struck by a black Mercedes E220.
Emergency services attended and he was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The 41-year-old male driver of the car and his three passengers were not injured.
The A81 was closed northbound for about eight hours and reopened at about 03:30.
PC Scott MacKenzie, of the Road Policing Unit, said: "This can be quite a busy junction and so we would ask anyone who was in the area, who has not yet spoken to officers but believes ."
