A fire has engulfed a double decker bus at a bus station.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at the station on Ainsworth Street in Blackburn at about 11:15 BST.

Police closed Railway Road, which leads to the station, and the surrounding streets as thick smoke could be seen across the Lancashire town.

The cause of the fire, which was put out shortly after 12:00, was "accidental" the fire service said, adding there were no reports of anybody being harmed.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn were called to the scene at about 11:15 BST.
