A man has been arrested after a video showing the scene of a fatal collision was posted on social media.

Suffolk Police said a motorcyclist in his 40s died during the crash on the A14 at Sproughton, near Ipswich, on Tuesday evening.

Following the incident, a video that showed the victim was shared on social media.

The 37-year-old from Ipswich was arrested on suspicion of malicious communications and driving a motor vehicle on a road whilst using a handheld device.

He was questioned by the police and subsequently released under investigation as inquiries continued.

The collision occurred on the westbound carriageway of the road at about 17:45 BST on Tuesday.

It involved a car, van and a motorcycle.

Acting Insp Byron Hearsum said the social media post was "insensitive and disrespectful".

"I would urge people to think first 鈥 would you want a photo or video of yourself or your loved one uploaded to social media after such a collision?" he added.
