Man seriously hurt after car crashes into tree

A man in his 80s has suffered life-changing injuries after a car crashed into a tree in Devon, police have said.

The crash involving a red Nissan Note happened at about 12:55 GMT on Sunday on the A379 Teignmouth Road in Torquay, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Police said the man was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth and the road was closed for an investigation.

Anyone with information was asked to contact police.
