Police found more than 1,000 cannabis plants at a commercial premises in Huddersfield

Cannabis worth £550,000 has been seized during a police raid in West Yorkshire.

Officers found 1,110 plants at a former commercial premises on Emerald Street, Huddersfield, on Tuesday.

The force said detailed forensic inquiries were conducted at the property, which was made safe with the help of Northern Powergrid.

The force said three men were arrested a part of the operation and had later been charged with the production of a Class B drug and abstracting electricity.

Sgt Khalid Sadiq said: "All reports of drugs related offences and production are thoroughly investigated and we urge anyone who has information about drugs crime in Kirklees to contact us."
