Cyclist, 37, dies following crash with car

A cyclist has died after a crash with a car.
The 37-year-old man was riding an electrically assisted bike when he was struck by a silver Mazda 3 car, Northumbria Police said.
The crash took place at about 19.00 BST on Tuesday on Bootle Street in Town End Farm, Sunderland.
Police are investigating the crash and have asked witnesses to come forward.
Following the crash, emergency services took the cyclist to hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the Mazda remained at the scene.
